When you say something that was meant to mean something that it totally didn't sound like

Yah, I was talking with a couple of friends I haven't seen in a while.

One of them said something like, "You are so pretty!"

And my reply was:

"Thanks! I don't even remember you being...I mean you are....beautiful.........."
gulp.

I meant to say, "You are even more beautiful than I remember!" *Actually that even sounds kinda iffy. Ugh. It was supposed to be a compliment and sounded a lot like I am surprised that you look beautiful because you were always so hideous.

Help!

Maybe someday I'll actually be able to use words correctly when I'm talking face to face with someone. Typing is so much easier- I can erase if something comes out funky. Real life is a little different.

I just hope she thought it was funny instead of insulting. sigh.
